If you’re near a window or door, I want you to go a take a deep breath of fresh air – can you smell it? Spring is here, the flowers are in bloom and hay fever is in season. But most importantly, it’s that time of year when horses and jockeys give us an excuse to get dressed up and celebrate Spring Racing.
Sure it’s a time to watch the races and place a bet, but the fashions on the field are the true beauty of the racing spirit, with pretty dresses, men in suits, sun-kissed tans and head-turning head-wear. APL Photography has launched into the BMW Caulfield Cup, showing us what a fabulously fashionable spring carnival season is upon us!
David Jones marquee was the place to be seen amongst the celebrity-studded crowd. Model ambassadors, Miranda Kerr and Megan Gale both looked as stunning as usual. Kerr wore an Alex Perry Grecian mini in silk beige, looking ever the delight with a contrasting grey rose fascinator by Nerida Winter. Gale was also dressed by Perry, wearing a red, one-shouldered number, with a matching wide-brimmed hat. Ricky Ponting and Blair McDonough were amongst the suited-up males, along with male model Didier Cohen, sporting the skinny tie, which is back in vogue.
Fashions on the field amongst other race-goers featured frocks in black, nudes and white, amongst the blossom of colours such as fuchsia, green and red.
APL Photography – Anthony Licuria will provide your coverage of all the fashions at the upcoming races, so continue to watch this space for all things fashion and fun.
